Tommy (The Lovely Dog) Hindi Dubbed Movie
"Tommy (The Lovely Dog) Hindi Dubbed Movie" is a heartfelt South Indian family drama that beautifully explores the profound bond between a family and their beloved canine companion, Tommy. Directed by Raja Vannem Reddy, the film stars Rajendra Prasad as Satyam Master, a respected professor, and Seetha as his initially hesitant wife. The narrative is rich with emotional moments, humor, and showcases the unwavering loyalty of a pet.
The story begins in a classroom setting where students are asked to talk about their heroes. A student named Vishwa, the granddaughter of Satyam Master, proudly declares Tommy, her dog, as her hero . This introduction sets the stage for the flashback that forms the core of the movie, detailing how Tommy came into their lives.
Vishwa recounts how her grandfather, Satyam Master, a college lecturer who commuted daily by train from Pune to Mumbai, found Tommy ten years ago at a railway station. The scene shifts to Satyam Master at the station, observing a small puppy. He initially tries to shoo it away, but the adorable puppy persistently follows him . Masterji attempts to find the puppy's owner, asking around the station, but no one claims it. He then tries to leave the puppy with a tea stall owner, but the puppy remains fixated on him, eventually biting the tea stall owner when he tries to hold it
Frustrated and perplexed by the dog's unwavering attachment, Satyam Master scolds it and tells it to leave . He believes the dog will not follow him anymore, given his stern demeanor that even makes his students tremble . However, to his surprise, Tommy continues to follow him all the way to his home . Knowing his wife, Annapurna, dislikes dogs and cats, Satyam Master tries to hide Tommy, fearing her reaction . He attempts to sneak Tommy into the house, but his wife's unexpected early return from her village trip creates a comedic scramble to hide the dog . He temporarily hides Tommy in a washing machine, only to quickly pull him out, fearing he might suffocate in the cold, and then hides him in a cupboard .
The next morning, his brother-in-law discovers Tommy, leading to a comical series of events where he believes the house is haunted due to Tommy's antics . Eventually, Annapurna discovers Tommy. She expresses her strong dislike for dogs and insists that Tommy be returned to the railway station. Satyam Master tries to explain that Tommy followed him, but Annapurna remains firm. However, their daughter, Sweety, quickly forms a strong bond with Tommy and convinces her mother to let him stay . Annapurna, though still hesitant, eventually gives in, on the condition that Satyam Master takes full responsibility for the dog.
Initially, Satyam Master tries to find a new home for Tommy, even asking a station master if anyone inquired about a lost dog . However, Tommy’s endearing nature slowly wins over both Satyam Master and Annapurna. They name him Tommy, a name that becomes popular even among Satyam Master's college students. The family starts to grow fond of him, and Tommy becomes an active and beloved member of the household. A pivotal moment illustrating this shift is when Annapurna receives a call from someone wanting to adopt Tommy, and she firmly states that they are keeping him, much to Satyam Master's delight .
Tommy's intelligence and helpfulness are showcased through several scenes. He is trained to perform various tasks, such as fetching coffee and even getting cold water . His loyalty is evident as he repeatedly follows Satyam Master to the railway station, even when told to stay home, going to great lengths to be with him.
A particularly humorous and impactful scene involves Tommy's protective nature. A thief breaks into the family's house, believing it to be an easy target . Tommy, however, thwarts his attempts, cleverly trapping him and preventing him from escaping . The thief, frustrated and exhausted by Tommy's persistence, is eventually caught by the police . This incident solidifies Tommy's place as a true guardian of the family.
The emotional connection between Tommy and the family deepens throughout the movie. Satyam Master openly expresses his love for Tommy, stating that his life changed for the better after Tommy came into it . He even speculates that Tommy might have been his son in a previous life . Tommy's unwavering loyalty is further demonstrated when he gets into an accident while coming to pick up Satyam Master at the station, causing immense worry to the family. Satyam Master rushes to the veterinary hospital, where he finds Tommy recovering, leading to an emotional reunion.
Later in the film, the family's daughter, Sweety, introduces her Australian boyfriend, Monty, to her parents . Monty, in an attempt to impress Satyam Master, tries to play fetch with Tommy, but Tommy refuses to engage with anyone but Satyam Master, leading to a comical and slightly embarrassing situation for Monty . Despite Monty's initial awkwardness and broken Hindi, Tommy’s implicit approval of him helps convince Satyam Master to accept their relationship.
The movie beautifully portrays the family's growing affection for Tommy, culminating in a scene where they celebrate Tommy's "birthday" – the day he arrived at their home – with a special cake and gifts, highlighting how he has become an irreplaceable member of the family . The film concludes by reiterating the strong bond and the family's dependence on Tommy, as they express concern when he seems sad or unwell, emphasizing that Tommy is not just a pet but a cherished and vital part of their lives . "Tommy (The Lovely Dog)" is a heartwarming ode to the unconditional love and joy that pets bring into our lives.
